Drawing a Butterfly


Steps:
1. Draw the body of the butterfly with Pencil tool (N) with no stroke and fill it with "Mali" swatch.
2. Draw the wings with Pencil Tool and color them with no stroke and Gradient Fill of light green and light blue.
3. Now we have to change the opacity of the wings from the "Transparency" palette to make a transparent effect. Select the two upper (or bigger) wings, notice that the default opacity is 100; change it to 73.
4. Then select the two lower (or smaller) wings, change their opacity to 43.
5. Now select the Pencil Tool and from the "Graphics Style" palette choose the "Dropped sherbet Type" and draw the design on the wings (any one side) with .5pt stroke.
6. Select the just drawn designs, copy and paste them; then to reflect them select Object>Transform>Reflect; the Reflect window appears. Choose "Vertical" then press OK. The left sided design is created.
6. Draw two small brown circle to make its eyes; then with Pencil tool draw two stings and color it no fill and stroke of brown colored "Thick Pencil" brush from the "Brushes" palette.
7. Select the four wings and two stings then select Effect>Stylize>Drop Shadow.. The "Drop Shadow" window will appear. then click ok.
